We had a such a great response on our first Haiku Friday we’re giving it another go.
We’re asking readers to go to the jump and write their own haiku.
The rules of haiku are simple. Three lines. First line has five syllables. Second line has seven syllables. Third line has five syllables.
Often nature makes an appearance in haiku. And the last line sometimes has an unexpected twist.

city of angels
barbed wire smog traffic douche bags
roses like melons
Now it’s your turn readers!

if I could trick him
with art into loving me
I would run through snow
in my dream we run
the trail together again
I wake and he’s gone
My turf died from cold
It just grew back from Winter
Dying now in Spring
DogCanyon Haiku
Surely brings serenity
Cat in tree smiling.
Reebok EasyTones
don’t make for easy jogging.
Just too damn squishy.
Hikes with kids and dogs
down canyon trails in red dirt.
Together in spring.
There’s a coyote
Laughing at the governor
Deep in DogCanyon
Three yards of wood chips
spread by three generations
equals sweat and dust.
School is almost out
Sing Hallelujah loudly
Let’s go for a swim
Gulf waters dying
When we begin to awake
Answers start living
There are eight million
beer cans in the naked ponds
of New York City.
The Spurs beat Dallas!
Que viva Old Mexico!
Que viva Los Suns!
